Hello my lovely readers!
So I have some exciting news to share. I have hinted in a few blog posts that some changes are coming my way and that I might be moving soon. Well it’s happening. I am moving to South Korea! I was supposed to post this when I first found out but I have been so tangled up in excitement and packing that I forgot. I leave this coming Sunday.
It has finally sunk in and I would be lying if I didn’t say that I have some fear bottled up inside me. For the past few days I have been waking up with the nervous jitters and my heart pounding in my chest. I stare at my suitcases already sitting by my bedroom door and constantly ask myself “am I really doing this?”
I think the scariest part about it (besides not being able to speak Korean and not having family with me) is that I truly have no idea what is in store for me. I think that many people are able to plan certain things in their life because they are able to see many different roads they can take that will eventually get them to their final destination. They can fantasize about what they dream of coming next.
For example, when we graduate college, we have an idea of the things that will come next in life. We might go to graduate school; we might get a job and start working right out of college; we might take a gap year and chill at our parents’ house. Whatever path we choose, we have an idea of the many things that have a possibility of coming our way. When I think about moving to South Korea, my mind is completely blank. I have absolutely no idea of the things that can come my way. And that’s scary.
But I am so happy for this opportunity and I am excited for this huge life change. I have received nothing but positivity ever since I first announced to my family and closest friends that I will be leaving. Older adults have been telling me that now is the time for me to do it; I have no children, I’m not married, I don’t have a mortgage or rent to pay, and I’ve finished my schooling. Now is the time! And I just couldn’t agree more.
I will be keeping this blog up for skincare related posts but I will be documenting my life abroad on another blog. If you are interested in following my adventures in Korea, please be sure to follow me over at chasetheskies.com
