Project: Use up my stash!

So I will be downright honest when I say this: I have too many perfumes and lotions. I don’t know what it is but smelling good and buying scented things has been an obsession of mine since I was a young girl. My mom even laughs at me when she tells me about it. I think I was first introduced to perfume around the age of 8. My mother had this pink bottle of perfume with a pink rose on top for a bottle cap and she used to let me spray myself every Sunday before heading out to church. That was the start of an ever growing obsession.

Since then, I have purchased bottles on top of bottles of perfumes, lotions, and body sprays and it has gotten to the point where I have no space to put them. I literally keep the majority of them in a duffle bag under my bed and have to pull it out each time I want to change the scent I’m wearing. My go-to spot for purchasing perfumes is a website called fragrancenet.com (you can buy brand new, authentic celebrity and designer perfumes here for a MUCH cheaper price than in department stores!) and my go-to spot for body sprays and lotions is the ever famous Bath & Body Works. Their frequent sales get me almost every time! (full-size body sprays and lotions for $3?? Come on!)

Now, I have done a great job at not purchasing from Frangrancenet.com for around a year, and I haven’t purchased anything from BBW for around 6 months. The reason being that I’ve somewhat put myself on a perfume buying ban lol. It sounds a little extreme but after seeing my pictures, you will understand why.

I purchased all of these during really good sales and are not yet opened.

As a student that will be graduating in just a few months, I actually have plans of moving away and I do not plan on taking boxes upon boxes of perfumes and lotions with me nor do I want to have to throw them away (if all goes as planned, I will be writing a blog post about where I’m headed!). I am graduating in May and am giving myself until July to really get a move on with my adult life. So I have until then to use up what I have.

As a way to hold myself accountable and make sure that I am actually using these products, I have come up with my own little challenge. I call it the ‘Use Up My Stash’ challenge! I couldn’t think of anything better to call it, lol. So, from here on out, I will be keeping track of the items I use up and posting them here. I am not allowing myself to purchase any new scents until I have enough room on my dresser to house all of my remaining scents. If my dresser can’t hold it, I don’t need to buy it.

It sounds simple enough but being only one person, it will be hard to use up my stash because I don’t use a lot of product at once to begin with, lol. I would ask my mom and sister to help me out but they are just as bad as I am! Large stashes all around lol. But this will be fun, and I’m ready for the challenge!
